Lose 4% BF by the 4th of July

Join me in a challenge to lose at least 4% Body Fat by the 4th of July.

I have participated in several weight lose challenges/threads on mfp. They were great and served as a super way to motivate and inspire me to new levels but I think there are other challenges that may fit some of us better than just weight. I’d like to start a challenge using Body Fat Percentage as our measurement.

Any BF measurement you can do will work for this challenge. One of the most common and easiest to do for us amateurs are the elctro-feedback scales like Tanita, Omron or several other companies make. No matter which method you chose; if you measure the same time, same place, with the same conditions each week your measurements should be comparable.

    I'm Stormy a 61 yearold Grampa trying to stay in shape so I can fully enjoy retirement one day soon. I've been working on my fitness now for about 3 years and have made it from a 209 lb very unhealthy person to a happier 157lb active fellow. I've still got work to do to get where I want but at least I'm on the road there and in control rather than just letting things happen to me. I think this BF challenge will help me focus on another aspect of my fitness besides just weight. I'm looking forward to being joined by people who feel likewise. Hope to see a bunch of you by Monday for our first real post.

    Looks like nobody else is going to take the bait and join this group. So, I'm going to keep going for a few weeks to see if there are going to be any other takers. I'm using a Tanita scale and I put mine in the athlete mode because I exercise at least 1 hour everyday. I like to weigh-in just before bedtime because that is when I seem to get the best readings for my body fat. Anyway, here are my results from last Monday.

    Starting BF%: 16.5%

    May 2: 17.5%

    Gained weight but lost BF last week. I'm going to kick it up a notch this week. Strict diet and exercise routine for this week!!!! I keep telling myself I'll start tomorrow but tomorrow never comes. So, today is tomorrow. Next week I hope for a significant change.
