Hi everyone...My name is Patti and I am new to MFP and I am trying to learn the ropes on losing the extra weight that I have put on since I have had my 3 children. I finally feel the motivation to help me follow through with losing the 50 pounds that I need to. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions that they have learned along the way? I would really appreciate any insight!

Hi Patti, I've found that you can eat a lot more if you stick to whole, natural foods. Stay away from packaged food and even diet foods can be worse for you than you think.

Feel free to friend me if you want. I've got almost 50 lbs to lose too.

Hi Patti, I have 50lbs to lose as well. I'd love to be friends and encourage one another along the way. Tracking your food intake is a big help. I've added more fruits and vegetables to my diet. I try to keep them handy especially for those little munchie moments that come up during the day or night (I'm guilty of late night snacking), and try not to eat anything after 8:00 p.m. Anyway, if its a melon, I cut it up and put it in a container to be readily available, but most fruits are portable; it's just choosing them over potatoe chips or candy (got a thing for chocolate too). When having veggies with a meal, I try to start on them first - they're full of fiber and nutrition - then my portion of other items is more gratifying. Hope this helps! Good luck!
