Too much water?

Is there any such thing as drinking TOO MUCH water??

    Nope. Drink as much as you can unless you have a medical problem.

    Actually, yes. I knew a woman that was obsessive about water -- she drank it constantly and her tissues drowned.

    But 8-10 glasses per day won't hurt you. It might feel like a lot (I know that's how I feel!), but it is just enough.

    Yes, you can die from water intoxication.

    Yes. But chances are you aren't anywhere near that point.
    I have had days where I was close to 2 gallons.

    Usually it can only become a problem if you drink a great deal of it in a very short period of time, somewhere in the neighborhood of more than 1 liter per hour.

    Agreed. A large amount over a very short period of time can dilute your cells and cause a number of issues. There are signs and symptoms so if you think you or someone you know may be causing this look for altered mental status, dizziness, etc. Kinda like being drunk.
