last night i made these perfect little pizzas for my family and they were a HUGE hit. the best part is how low in calories they are with a ton of flavor.

all you need for one:
- 1 whole sara lee plain pita pocket (whole wheat works too!) = 140 calories
- 1/4 reduced fat mozzeralla cheese (i used lucerne) = 70 calories
- 1/4 cup contadina pizza sauce (squeeze bottle) = 30 calories
- 2 oz foster farms ground turkey = 80 calories

= 320 calories

i also put some green onions on mine, but almost any vegetable is good add:)

1. put the oven on broil.

2. in a skillet cook the ground turkey. optional garlic salt to flavor.

3. spread the pizza sauce on the whole pita.

4. sprinkle some cheese:)

5. sprinkle the cooked ground turkey.

6. sprinkle a little more cheese.

7. pop it in the oven.

8. broil until the cheese has melted and a little golden brown.

9. enjoy!

basically anything works on these bad boys!

that was going to be my question as well!
  • Enjoy!

Take it a step further and learn to make your pita & sauce from scratch. Even w/whole milk cheese the calories will be healthy and filling & w/in a proper calorie range. Making homemade whole wheat pita pizza is something I do for my family every week.

A nearly processed food free home ;o)

i dont really watch the sodium too much, but i just checked it out and did it pretty fast (so accuracy may be off) but it looks pretty low. i had these yesterday, and my sodium level was down by quite a bit.

I just did a quick calculation and you're looking at anywhere from 1200-1800mg of sodium depending on the type of
pita, sauce and cheese you use.

That sounds awesome! I've made a similar pizza, which is more of a flat brea, using a whole wheat pita, a laughing cow cheese wedge, light parmesan cheese, and grilled chicken cubes coated in buffalo wing sauce. Super yummy and makes you feel like you just had pizza and hot wings with none of the guilt : )
