I joined MFP in February and have really liked it. I hope that this time its not a diet, but a change in eating habits. Nothing is off the table, I just have to keep to my daily goals. So, if I want a piece of that birthday cake, I better find some time to exercise and make up for it! Its been easier to maintain with that sort of outlook, and I would really like this to be the way I continue to eat when I make it to maintenance calories only. Something about the food logging really appeals to my OCD as well! I've also given up diet soda, which I consumed at an embarrassing rate (frequently accompanying my fast food breakfast, I am ashamed to admit). I've been buying more organic foods, less processed food, and actually buying groceries and using the kitchen that came with our house when we bought it! I wanted to take baby steps, and now that I am two months in, I think it is time to step up to a regular exercise routine too.

Anyway, after months of lurking, I just wanted to say hello! I haven't replied to most people, but I have found your success stories very inspiring!

I think you're right about OCD. Daily diary updates is a great outlet. If Howard Hughes had MFP, he might have cut his fingernails.

Thanks all! 25 pounds does sound like a lot, but the first ten came off so fast that I expect it was a lot of water loss. I was eating out all of the time, and mostly high salt foods. It still does look pretty nice when I log in and see 25 pounds lost!
