Did the 60 min Tae Bo Live Advanced dvd today. I put in the time into MFP and it said something like 630 calories, so I decided to google it to see if anyone knew what you might burn. Found a website with Tae Bo "Moderate" listed (not sure it was moderate since it kicked the crap outta me, but I went with the lowest one) and it had listed as burning 748 calories. I went with 600 calories, but I reallly don't know how accurate it is. Anyone know anything about calories burned with Tae Bo? I don't have a heart rate monitor yet.

You burn a ton of calories with tae bo! At least I know I do! It's quite an intense workout. I would always estimate low though until you get your HRM.
  • Honestly, everyone is different. Any number you get from any website, whether it MFP, Tae Bo, or anything else, will only be a guess as to what you burned, and in my opinion, I wouldn't trust the number. A HRM will help you considerably in knowing what you burn. Just remember to subtract out your BMR from whatever the HRM shows.

I want to get a HRM, but right now it just isn't my budget. :( So, I have to do my best to guess on it right now. When I'm at the gym, I use the number from the treadmill (or I'll use the number off the pedometer on my ipod if I walk/run where I don't have the calories burned in front of me). Unfortunately, my ipod can't track Tae Bo.

This particular video is a quick warm up, cardio, ab floor work, then they do work that helps to tone your butt and then MORE cardio before the cool down. It is intense!
