Ok, so I have been losing weight since two years ago. I started at 235 pounds and dropped to 215. In October of 2010 my husband started his 5th deployment to a war zone. Since then I have hit the gym 5 days a week and am down to 196. I have hit the wall!!!!

I no longer drink soda like water, I am down to maybe 2 per month. I no longer cook with salt, or add salt to my foods, I cut out sweets ( god help me that was tough), and I make sure to get a good amount of physical activity in my day. My blood work is much the same...kidney failure stage 2 , diabetes, and of course I have PCOS ( polycystic overaian disease).
! also work out for roughly an hour 5 days a week and hardly ever take the time to sit down anymore. so there is constant moving.

I am so frustrated though because I have hit that wall.. the weight is no longer coming off. No matter how hard I work. I am still losing inches but its not the only thing I want to lose. I freak out every time I have to get on the scale!

I have a goal..175 pounds then I am being put in to have abdominal plasty and a boob reduction. I know there is probably 25 pounds of excess right there alone.

SO Now what?!!!! What can I do now that will make the weight come off..or am I just going to have to deal with the scale and accept that maybe this is it..this is were I am supposed to be happy? I haven't been under 200 pounds since before my youngest daughter was born. I am happy about that, don't get me wrong but I am constantly struggling to keep it were it is now.!!

sounds like you're just at a plateau--can you try changing up your workouts? i find i have to do that every now and then--my body just gets used to doing the same thing and needs to be challenged in a different way. hang in there! :)
  • I just read in an earlier post that when some people get into this situation they will have a binge day that jump starts their metabolism. Or eating 300-400 calories more a day for 3 days, then go back to normal. Many that replied to the post said this worked for them. Good luck!

switch it up! Try different exercises and different foods. There's a good chance that your body is just used to what you're doing.
