So I am definitely one of those people that are always on the go. Between working my three jobs, watching my nephew play t-ball, and visiting the boyfriend on the weekend (which he lives about a hour away) I don't have time to cook or nor do I like to. So as you can see from my diary I tend to eat out a lot and not necessary choose the best choices. I was wanting to know some better options of what to eat or some easy to do recipes (anything over 5 ingredients and I am out). I just don't have time to do major cooking. Anyway thanks for the help in advance!

I'm very busy too. I'm a full time law student and work about 32 hours a week as well. I'm always eating and running. For breakfast I usually have 2 hardboiled eggs (can be made the night before or i let them boil while I'm in the shower) or I have yogurt and granola. I usually make the yogurt the night before so I can just grab the container and go. For lunch I usually pack a sandwich or salad. Quite often I go out for lunch though, but even when I go out I try to eat only low cal soup, salad, or sandwich. For dinner, chicken and veggies over rice is a staple. I put the chicken and veggies in the skillet while the rice is cooking and it only takes about 10-15 mins. Since summer is fast approaching, I'll also be making a lot of burgers (no bun) and salads. And one of my favorites is zuchinni (sliced the long way) with cherry tomatoes on top (sliced in half), grilled with mozzerella cheese sprinkled on top. Delish. Anyway...hope this helps a little.0

You need to make time at least once a week to PLAN out your meals and snacks. It might take an hour or so...maybe while visiting your boyfriend he would help you. then PRE-PACKAGE portion sized healthy snacks granola bar, carrots, dehydrated apples, fruit.etc Your meals should probably be the Healthy Choice or Smart Ones microwaveable meals that only take a few minutes to cook. You would then know you are eating something good if it's got to be FAST! IF you did have time you would have to set a day to grocery shop and cook a few meals at a time and pre portion them and freeze them so you could just reheat them when you need to eat. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS make some time for yourself EVERY DAY!!! even if you have to schedule yourself in in your planner. If you have time to fit everything else in put yourself on that calendar too. You will feel better about yourself. right now you feel like you are neglecting yourself...Negative thoughts just bring you down. It's inbread in females to take care of others but we always put ourselves last on the list. STOP doing that right now and put yourself in there so you can breath. good luck0

I am right there with you when life is too busy. I work 45 hours a week, a mom, and a full time student working on my masters degree. What I do is pack a cooler. It might not work for everyone but it works for me. I pack a lean protien with a complex carb for each meal and I eat at least 6 times a day. This keeps my body in balance. I have a really screwy metabolism. I have messed with it too much over the years so if I eat over my limit it sticks to me like glue. If I consistently eat at least 1200 caloried it keeps my body happy. Then I can have a cheat meal because my body isn't in starvation mode anymore. Before I changed my eating habits I would literally gain about 5 lbs after a cheat day. Now my body is more balanced.0

You do sound busy! I'm not that busy with my day, but it's always around 7 when I get home from work/gym, so I like to plan out quick meals.
For real meals, I like things like veggies/beans wrapped in corn tortilla. Pretty fast to make and low cal. Or I'll make a casserole on Sunday, and microwave a serving of it every night. I also make up a huge salad on Sunday, so I always have it handy for when I need a quick meal. You can add anything to it (shrimp, fish, chicken, beans, veggies), and have a filling meal. Usually every Sunday eveneing I'll plan out some stuff, or throw single -serving size portions of crackers into lunch bags or something.
Also, lots of snacks. Fiber one granola bars, almonds or other nuts, apples. I bought an apple corer/slicer from Ikea and it slices the apple with one move, so it goes even faster.0
