flabby bits are sore when running

Hey all,
this might be a bit of an unusual problem...I've recently started jogging as I wish to take part in the womens 5k Race for Life. I've never been a runner...EVER, so I find it quite hard.
I have quite...chunky legs and a wobbly bum and when I run I can feel them all bouncing. I don't really care if people see it all bouncing, thats just how it is but it's rather sore when it all jiggles about. My boobs are ok as I have a very good sports bra, but my legs and bum really hurt when it all flumps about so vigorously.
Anyone else ever had this and if so what did you do to help?

I would wear tight shorts under my clothes if I were you. I had this problem when I played softball - I wore bicycle shorts underneath that held it all in place, kind of like a bra for your bum & legs - that should do the trick.0

i wear control shorts, designed to hold things in to make you look thinner, actually holds it in and stops it being uncomfortable, if your in the UK, i got a pair from sainsburys about 2 weeks ago for £5 and they work fab!0

Compression shorts work wonders!0

I agree about wearing some tight shorts underneath. I too remember experiencing this very exact same thing. It's just like working muscles - expect to be sore for some time but it does get better.
I never ran a day in my life until 2.5 yrs ago. It all started w/walking a 5k. A full marathon later I haven't looked back. You're doing great - just keep doing!!0
