OK so I had a baby in July 2010 and I haven't lost any weight...I actually gained. I need help to lose this weight!
I'm home all the time with my son, so i have easy access to food =[
I feel like I have no energy at all.
I take about forty minute walks almost everyday but I don't feel like that's enough.
I really need some advice and motivation!
I want to lose 50 pounds... Help me Please =]

40 min walks are great actually.

But keep in mind its 80% diet, 20 % fitness.

Try Jillian Michaels' dvds. Ripped in 30 for example, its just ~20 min/day and you really feel it.

Make the foods u have access to healthy... Fruits, nuts, veggies..etc....invest in a good jogging stroller and u can turn that 40 min walk into a fat burning 40 min run/walk....

Get the junk out of the house! If the only thing in the house to eat all day is fruits and veggies your habits will change to healthier more filling foods quickly

I don't have time/money for the gym since I have 2 babies of my own. I do workout dvds at home (I have done 30-day shred - had great results and now I am doing Turbojam - Chalene is amazing). I recommend either one of those. Watching what you eat is very important. It is all about determination and will power. Just eat healthy things, you are supposed to snack but make them healthy. You can do this!!! Just put your mind to it.

The more you do the more energy you will have. Try to keep only good stuff in your house. try playing with your baby on the floor and use him/her as a weight. I use to lay on my back and put my sons stomach on my bare feet and then lift him up and down several times. I would also hold him out in front of me and lift him up and down with my arms straight out. He loved it and it was good for me. There are lots of things you can do that will help you and keep you interacting with him/her full time.

I have also just started the Jackie warner video and she is kicking my but. You can do just a 5 min target work out now and go back later and do another five minute work out. she has a set for but, a set for the front of the legs and a set for the back of the legs. then she will go into the stomach and back and arms. the whole dvd is maybe 30min long. It is a hard work out but a good one and if you just dont feel like you have much energy then you think 5 min isnt that bad and by the time that five minutes is up you have a lot more energy and may even move on to the next section.

added you for encouragement/support. Feel free to look at my diaries if you need some ideas. They are open to the public.
  • As others have said, get the junk food out of the house. Find healthy substitutes. It is tough trying to stay quiet while the baby sleeps. You can't leave and you can't do a lot around the house. Boredome sets in and you start sitting and snacking.

This will change as the baby gets older. Children are great motivators. I lost my weight because I wanted to be able to keep up with my kids and be part of their playtime and not just sit and watch them grow up.
  • Thanks Everyone
