In the last 2 weeks, I have seriously struggled to eat 1200 calories daily. I am doing about 40 mins of exercise 5 times a week, and even during those days I cant eat the 1200.

In fact, in the last 2 days, I have eaten 2 chocolate biscuits at 9pm to boost me to 1200 calories, and therefore not eaten my exercise calories.

I dont want to boost up with chocolate, but havent had anything else in the fridge, and havent wanted to eat anything bigger than a biscuit!

Whats the best thing to do?! I'm sure eating chocolate isnt it, but I also dont want to eat less than 1200 calories.

I dont understand, since obviously I used to eat MUCH more (by atleast a thousand) calories than this - otherwise I wouldnt be 70lbs overweight! lol

Without seeing your diary, it's hard to know what to tell you, but I would say eat nuts. They are high in calorie but also nutritious.

I've been having the same problem! Crazy how it was so easy to eat thousands of calories when we weren't thinking about it. But with healthier choices, portion sizes and calorie contents change, as do our appetites and what we want to fuel our bodies with. I'm not really having trouble eating 1,300-1,400 calories, but struggling when I try to add back some exercise calories so I net at least 1,200.

The past couple days I've been playing with my menu more. Like I usually have a salad at work for lunch. Today I added some hummus and a spicy black bean veggie burger, to boost those calories.

Also have a few go-to snacks if I need them, like a granola bar, yogurt, protein drink, glass of milk, or cereal. I try to eat throughout the day whether I'm hungry or not, but if it gets to be past 7:30 I stop.

I would say, try adding a few snacks throughout the day, and play with the food diary a bit, to try to boost some of those calories. And some days, if you really aren't hungry, don't worry too much about it, as long as most days you're hitting those calorie goals.

Consider opening your diary so we can weigh in.

Other ways to boost cals quickly and healthfully: Add in nuts, healthy oils like olive or canola, avocado, and/or a protein powder smoothie.

NUTS! you only need to eat a very little for high calories with great beneficial fat and no carbs.

    Plan!
Write in what you are going to eat for the day - I add my meals first then add extras to meals or add snacks so I know how much I'll be eating during the day. Then if you exercise you can add done extra nuts or a trail bar, yoghurt or other snacks to add some extra cals.
