Ok, so I had my first "big girl job" interview this morning and I think that it went pretty well. BUT, I have a lot of competition for the position so I'm super stressed out because I want/need this job so badly! So, after the interview I was so stressed out that I came home and sat on my couch allllll day and did nothing...except eat. I didn't go over my calories for the day, even with all of the food that I ate. But then I went to work at 4 (at a restaraunt) and proceeded to eat my vegitable steamer for dinner. I was like 50 cals over my goal but that isn't too bad. Then, I went and got a yeast roll, a crawfish corn and potato fritter, and halfed a dessert with someone. I also snacked on other little things all night. SERIOUSLY?! WHAT WAS I THINKING????

So, I am over my goal of 1200 by like 850 calories. It is too late to exercise now, and today was the most horrible day that I have had (eating wise) in such a long time. I have been doing everything as normal and on point as ever and have been at a plateau for about 3 weeks now and I have to go and do something like this!!!! Ugh! I'm so frustrated and I'm so glad that I can get on track again tomorrow.

Sorry about that rant, but I had to tell someone!!!

I did the opposite today because of some stress. Didn't eat enough, and didn't drink enough water and forgot to track my blood pressure (have to do it 3x a day per doc). I had another of my days when I went overboard but at least we don't do that everyday.

Don't worry, one bad day is not going to derail you. You are right to blow off some steam here and focus on getting back on track tomorrow. Re: "What was I thinking?" Probably not so much thinking as feeling incredibly stressed and doing something to try to make yourself feel better. If you don't have horrible days very often, maybe don't worry about it. If you do, you could try to think (ahead of time) of other things that would calm/comfort you...hot bath, flowers, a nice walk, cup of tea, your favorite music...

Oh, if you just wanted to vent and didn't want advice, ignore this  I think part of it was me reminding myself.

I don't have days like this very often! It caught me by suprise. I'm just mad because I knew exactly what I was doing as I was doing it. I WAS thinking! That is what makes it worse!

No worries about one day -- get back on track tomorrow.

You may even find that you break your plateau this week. I was in a 2-3 week plateau of trading pounds back and forth, and decided to give myself some freedom on Easter. I mowed the yard the Saturday before, which produced a huge calorie deficit, then gave myself a break that Sunday. This week, the scale started moving again.

There are several threads out here where this has happened -- sometimes feeding your body helps.

Good luck with your job search! And get back on track tomorrow!

I never thought about it helping me break a plateau! I hope that happens!
