help with exercise database...need clarification

/Hi all,
So my workout routine typically consists of using machines at the gym, workong out@ home doing about 30 push ups/sit ups (usually about 200-250), using workouts I've found on netflix, and cardio.
I was wondering what the differences are btw:
circuit training and strength training
Calastetics (spelling error I know) vigorous
Aerobics: for ex. One is a 10 min target toning and 2nd is crunch pilates+ yoga...is one strength and the other aerobics?
GENERAL : how does it determine how many calories you've burned??? I want to be accurate when recording exercises that aren't cardio!

The only way to accurately know what you're burning is to wear a heart rate monitor. The rest are just estimates of what the "average" person would burn. It's worth the money!
