o.k. From what I have read here, a Polar FT4 or FT7 is the best to get. So when I google "polar FT4" all that comes up is the watch style HRM. People keep saying to wash out the pads, throw it in the washing machine ect, but from what I see there are no pads with the watch style.
Can anyone point me in the correct direction? Really? if anyone has the time feel free to send me a link to one... anything to help me figure out what the heck I shouold get. Heck, I even went to Ebay and they all look like watches?
OR am I just not getting it?

The watch comes with a chest strap, with a detatchable piece. Remove it, and the strap can be washed. I like my Polar FT40 a lot.0

Your F7 HRM will come with a strap that has pads. You can't see it in the package. I'm not sure about the F4. Everyone at the sporting goods store said that you definitely want one with a strap--more accurate and dependable. And yes, you should wash it often. It gets really sweaty and, well, fragrant!!!0

I just got an F6 yesterday and love it. I got it off Craigslist for a 1/3 of the price and its been used once. I know I only got it yesterday, but I love it! Like others said, mine has a detachable strap that is washable.0

Just got the FT4 and love it, got mine on Zappos for 89.95 with free shipping. Had a credit with them otherwise would have probably bought off of ebay, they had some descent prices. I posted a question about the FT4 over the weekend and got some nice responses if you would like to search for it, I even had some picures sent in the posts. I think the title was FT4 bronze or something like that.0
