What's Next...when you have "That Number or even a few pounds below it," What do you do or PLAN to DO?
For those that have Reached that "Number" and regained weight, could you tell Me how you did that? What did you Stop doing or began doing? How long did it take you to catch yourself, how much did you regain? This time, do you Plan on doing something differently, if so, what?

I hit my goal and decided to try for 5 more pounds!0

im almost halfway there, but the past few weeks i've been eating things i shouldnt, still working out and maintining my loss, even if i dont lose more.
I have now figured out that after I hit my goal I have a failry good idea on how to "maintain" and start adding some of the foods I've cut out back into my menu.
Theres no way I could live the rest of my life and never have a bowl of pasta. I think I will always keep checkig the scale & adjusting my food/exercise to compensate0 -
Tone up and get the tattoo I've been planning for years as a reward! Maybe even start thinking about having another baby lol0

My first goal was the 10 pounds I gained since retiring, so that brought me to 133. Then I decided to go for 128, I am at 129 as of last Saturday, but I've set my final goal as 125 (the weight my doc said I'd never see again once I was 40). I'm terrified of "maintenance" because I'm not sure I know how to do that. One thing I will do is stick with this site, its been a lifesaver for me. I am also interested in stories of how people maintained.0

I will probably take one day to eat whatever I want and then get back to work on maintaining where I am. Possibly set a new goal to make my body more defined.0

AWESOME! Me too!!0 -
I have a long way to go before I really need to worry about that! My plans - stick with MFP only in maintain mode. Still eat healthy, exercise, and weigh-in weekly. Although I will be adding an In-n-Out burger once in awhile! lol0

I'm actually at my goal and have been for a while. The biggest thing is to stay consistent. Not doing that is the beginning of a dangerous yo-yo or roller coaster ride that so many people unexpectedly end up on.
Now, while I've been at my goal weight for some time, I have made other goals ... such as eating cleaner (very few refined or processed foods) and then making sure my kids understand the importance of doing that as well. Trying new forms of exercise (next up, kick boxing!), running in an organized run with my 11 year old daughter, and so forth. New things that keep me in line with the way I changed my life to get where I am now
I will also be getting a new celebratory tattoo ... just as soon as I decide where to put it. My 'canvas' is rather flawed as a result of stretch marks and yet, I want it someplace where I can see it. I'm getting it for me, I want to be able to enjoy it without having to look in a mirror0 -
I'm going bikini shopping and LIKING it!0

OMG ... I did that once during my loss when I hit a milestone. Once only I tell ya ... my body was not used to those kind of foods anymore and totally revolted on me! I spent all day running to and from the rest room!0 -
When I hit my goal and if I'm feeling ambitious I may try and get down to my high school weight.. thats if I feel ambitious. If not, then I'm going to feel happy that I am where I am and possibly buy some new clothes.0

I will dance around naked as often as I can!!
I get what you're saying though...maintanence scares me more than weight loss itself. I'm halfway and have about 60 to go but I already think about this stuff and I'm going to give myself 5 lb allowance either way and if (which I plan not to) but IF I gain over 5 lbs in maintanence I know how to take it back off. Weight loss isn't a short term thing, it's long term which requires being aware of our bodies. Good luck to you!

I plan to continue monitoring closely so I can loose if I gain. I will go to the gym for a hour 3 times a week, and more than likely track my calories. Maybe I won't be so strict with myself or push as hard, but I will correct any mistakes I'm making before 2 lbs turns into 20. I'm just gonna keep in mind weight gain is easy to fix early on.0

i reached my goal weight two and half years ago and then met my boyfriend. i was down to 140 pounds from 211. i was so proud and happy. i was eating healthy, cut out the sodas, candy, sweets and fast food and was walking between 2 and 7 miles a day. when i met my boyfriend all that stopped. he took me to every restaruant imaginable, fast food and otherwise. eating out became our hobby. we had ourselves a life of indulgence. on valentines day he went to the doctor and found out he weighed 297 pounds. i bought a scale and i weighed 225.9. i was so sad. not only had i gained my weight back i was bigger than i was before. now we go walking nearly every day for a half hour. then he goes home and walks on the treadmill for an hour and i ride my exercise bike or do aerobics. on the weekends he stays over and if it's nice we walk 2 to 4 miles. we still go out to restaraunts. i go online and look at the menus before we go and try to find the calorie content of what i want to eat before we get there and exercise extra if it's not already something alloted in my calories for the day. i allow myself treats whenever i want them. just not a huge serving. i eat subway once a week for my fast food fix instead of burgers and fries. i drink alot more water than i used to instead of soda or sugary juice. when i do drink soda it's generally diet rite, 0 calories, 0 sodium and 0 caffine. if i have juice it's the 50 calorie orange juice and i water that down to where it's half juice half sparkling water. i am committed to this lifestyle change this time. i am not depriving myself of food. i am spending quality time with my boyfriend and we are both getting healthier. so far he's lost 35 pounds and i have lost nearly 20. yay for us. and yay for all of you out there trying to make yourselves better you's.0

Wheeew! Exactly what I meant. We think so much about getting to a "number" we forget about a maintenance plan, and don't realize how difficult it is to maintain wt loss. I sure can't afford to be yo-yoing...that stuff will actually kill you.0 -

WOW! Thanks for sharing. We live and hopefully learn, losing weight is only part of the "journey."0 -

Eating Cleaner is a definite goal for Life, I like that goal too.0 -
Maintenance scares me. My DH is at his goal and "maintaining" though he is so scared to eat more calories and gain weight again, he is losing because he is not eating enough to not lose. I know I will be exactly the same way. I only have 2 more pounds before I reach goal so once I get there, I plan on making my next goal toning up and excercising more. I plan on logging everyday so I do not get out of hand. MFP says I need about 1700-1800 to maintain but I am terrified of eating that much. I think I will go to 1500 for a few weeks and see what happens and just play it by ear. I am more scared of maintaining than I was losing!!0
