No carbs after lunch?

I'm sure this has been talked about before, but I'm wondering if anyone follows this, and what the reasoning is behind it.

Muriah2,
I'm not sure about the rationale behind this, but I've thought about doing this myself. I wonder if it's to help limit overall carb intake or to prevent carb cravings?0 -
Because the more carbs you have, the more your body has to burn and if you don't burn them up, you store them as fat. So if you reduce your carbs earlier in the day, you have more time to burn them. Vs eating them at 7pm and you dont have the time in the day left.0

I have been trying to say under 75 carbs a day and so far I have dropped 5 pounds in about 9 days doing so. I try to eat the most of them in the morning and limit them to about 10 in the evening. This works for me and may not work for everyone. But so far I have found this to be successful. I also try to eat atleast 100 in protein, and limit my sugar to 25.0 -
Thanks MaryMary,
How many carbs per day do you eat? I defintely do better without as many carbs but I don't want to get "obessive" about it because then I'll start craving them...0 -
Thanks Jamie! Do you only count refined sugars or do you include fruit as well in your 25g per-day limit?0

If i keep my calories to my MFP limits, eat clean carbs like whole grain rice, quinoa and ezekiel bread, and limit carbs after mid afternoon snack- the carbs are always lower than the limit every day- just falls into place I find that limiting my carb at dinner- keeps me eating healther stuff and more protein HTH0

I've been with a trainer for the past two months and he told our group no carbs or fruit after 4 p.m. I was shocked about the fruit part, and it was very hard at first, but I wake up feeling lighter and less sluggish. He also suggested we eat a piece of fruit first thing in the morning then our normal breakfast. You can never go wrong with grapefruit or berries! Try it out for a week and see how it goes!0

I just attended a nutrition class at my gym and he went over this, I'm gonna do it!0

I'm a huge carb eater and this could be a way to reduce my carb intake. I'm going to try it, thanks for the post.0

I stick to 20 per day. No actually the less you eat, the less you crave them. Once you start eating them, you'll eat a little more and a little more and there goes the plan. There are ways to still enjoy the good stuff low carb, you just have to be creative0
