You're better off having a regular soda by the time you consider all the sodium and artificial sweetners in a diet soda.
It's true... you might as well have a regular soda. What's the difference when you're drinking artificial sweeteners and huge amounts of sugar either way anyway?
I don't think that choosing diet or zero-cal sodas are going to benefit you in any way, especially if you choose to drink them as a way to lose weight.0 -

I don't think that choosing diet or zero-cal sodas are going to benefit you in any way, especially if you choose to drink them as a way to lose weight.
The difference is calories.
Also, the sodium content in diet soda is the same or less than regular soda @ around 35mg per 8oz serving. Considering our sodium limit shouldn't exceed 2500mg/day, 35 is nothing. We get more sodium eating an ounce of chicken breast.0
