Everytime I lose 10lbs the site asks me to update it so it can re-calculate. Not knowing exactly what that did I always clicked on "ask me again in another 10lbs" Well today I was going through everything and I updated it because my 2lbs a week was slowy going down to 1.5lbs a week. My calories went from 1640 to 1500....is that a good thing??? Will I still continue to lose the weight??

Thank you in advance

  • I recalculate my calories each week...the smaller you get, the less calories your body needs. So...congrats!!!!

That's why they want you to update it. The more you lose, the more calories they take away from you in order to hit that 2 pound per week mark. I found that out the hard way too. :)

  • The more you weight, the more calories your body burns doing day to day stuff and exercising. As you lose weight, you have to eat a little less and work a little harder to continue losing.
    Sorry :-)

Awesome! That is for sure a good thing! That means you are losing weight, and your body doesn't need as many calories. When you lose weight, the site wants you to lessen your calories in order to keep your 2lbs a week going!

I know I was a little disappointed the first time it took away my calories. I gained back about 10-15 lbs over the holiday & winter and never updated my weight (mostly because I wasn't using MFP the way I should have been). Now I am getting really close to my "original" weight loss and will be going down in calories again soon. It shouldn't be a problem for me though because most days I am under in my calories.

    Good Luck.
