Activity Level

Hi all!
I have a quick question. I've lost quite a bit of weight, but I'm nearing the end (or another beginning?) of my weight loss journey, and the weight isn't coming off quite as easily as before and I think it may be due to not eating enough calories.
As a bit of background, I'm a college student, I spent a lot of the day standing on public transportation (live in a big city), walking up and down campus to classes (campus is built on a small incline), and I have the attention span of a goldfish, so I can rarely sit still. When I do "walk" I have a fairly fast pace (~4mph?). I also exercise on weekends for approx 1/hr a day (3 days) -- all schedule allows on the elliptical which according to the machine burns 800 calories or so. I currently have my MFP activity level set to "lightly active," and it's suggesting about 1,580 calories per day. When comparing it to some other sites, they're saying I should be eating closer to 2,000 calories per day. I'm (understandably, I'm sure) nervous about upping calories...
But, do you think that my fitness level is reflective of reality? The descriptions are so vague, it's hard to tell. Any suggestions appreciated!
