Whats Your Motivation?

Your motivation for weight loss should always be health first and foremost, you can tack on vanity, beauty and self confidence after-the-fact....(I hear the rebuttals coming)...my argument however is this:

1) There are plenty of beautiful/handsome overweight people who are self-confident.

2) Beauty and self-confidence have never been a deterrent to diabetes, high blood pressure, hypertension, bad knees, bad back and any other host of weight/diet related illnesses.

3) Self-confidence is just that...confidence that comes from your self, whether your 350 or 150, at the end of the day, how you feel about you is more important than how anyone else feels about you.

4) You experience great love by first loving yourself....if you don't love you, then you are doing yourself and the other people in your life or that other person, a disservice. You can never place the burden of your happiness on anyone else but YOU.

5) There are plenty of beautiful, self-confident people laying in the hospital and the grave...

6) As the saying goes "Your health is your wealth"

Now, don't get me wrong...I've lost 40 plus pounds as of this writing,...do I feel more self-confident,,,YES...do I think I look better...YES

Buuuuuuut! I was already happy with WHO I was as a person beforehand, I just wasn't happy with WHAT i had become. There is the difference.

It has become a saying of mine as I talk to to more and more people about losing weight...

"You have to lose weight mentally before you lose weight physically"

It's a mindset. Pure and simple.

You have to change your perception.

When you change your perception, then your thinking changes, when your thinking changes, then your actions change and when your actions change, then so does what happens to you.

My intent was not to offend, but I do understand that you can't please everyone, if you try to , then no one will be pleased, most of all not you.

At the end of the day, your happiness is worth the most.
