I am just curious if anyone out there knows of any tried and true moves to tone up the back. Specifically the sides of the back. I have that little extra fat that hangs out as a protective covering on my ribs and I'd like to get rid of it.

Thanks for the help!

I burned through a lot of mine doing cardio. I can't do a lot of toning/strength training due to back surgery, but I was able to get rid of back boobs with cardio. :)

Try rows/rowing machines and eventually some chin ups. Lat pull downs work well also

I've been doing the shred...almost at day 30. it's getting better back there, but I was just hoping for some other tricks as well.

How much cardio do you do? I do the shred and then try to work in at least another 30 mins of cardio on top.

Back extensions, and deadlifts do some back too.

When I first started I did at least 45 mins of cardio 6 days a week. I'm now down to only going to the gym 3 days and I still do cardio all 3 days, but not as much (I do one full day of cardio (60 mins), 1 day of half cardio/half strength training and 1 day of 1/4 cardio and 3/4 strength).
