So I have been trying a new "lifestyle change"(okay let's face it, I'm on a diet and it's hard), and the 1st month was amazing. Down 22 lbs.!!! I'm a paramedic and a few days ago I injured myself. Now I can't exercise a whole lot and the meds. I'm taking make me nauseous if not taken with food, plus they make me feel like I'm STARVING, so I can't seem to stay at my daily goal. Today I went over almost 300 calories.
I know that I need to get well again so I can get back out in the field, but I feel like I'm failing at losing wieght. Anyways, I just wanted to know if anyone's gone through anything like this too...

You may just have to do the best you can until your back to exercising. It's a life style change...so you can't think it a over night thing. Do your best not to gain until your feeling better. I know it's hard, I'm in the same boat. I just walked today for the first time since last friday. I'm just hanging in until I'm back at it 100%
Good luck : )0 -
Oh yeah, living the dream!! Still recovering from my injuries, and able to get around much better, but the initial "don't do anything phase nearly killed me. I've been off for 6 months now and still trying to get back to work. Try drinking lots of water. And really, 300 cal in one day aren't terrible. Try to make up for it another day. it's not a strict 24 hour X number of calories a day, its being consistent with your intake. Also try working out whatever parts you can when you can. Feel free to friend me, there is lots of support here and you meet the coolest people. Way nicer than ambulance patients!!0
