I have been monitoring Carbs, Fat, Sat Fat, Sugar, and Sodium. I can usually eat my allotted calories and stay under all of these categories as well, but when exercising, I have more calories to eat, but no more fat, sugar, sodium etc. I assume even though I earn more calories I need to stay under these caps, so I guess I need to switch up what I am eating during the day. Any suggestions on foods that are low in sugar and sodium. These are usually my biggest problems. I do eat lunchmeat sandwiches during the day and i know they are pretty high in sodium. Also, my sugar usually comes from fruit, veggies, cereal, and cheese.

Thanks!

Also, feel free to add me ;)

Cook with extra virgin olive oil or make a salad dressing with it balsemic vinegar and thyme. 2 tbsps is 120 calories and there is no sodium or sugar.

You will definitely need to get rid of the sandwich meat. Perhaps your can prepare your meals by cooking some items in bulk and freezing them. Like chicken and turkey breast. You can split them in half and use them for sandwiches. That will cut down on your sodium.

almond, peanuts, soynuts all under 200 miligrams of sodium and are lightly salted and 1 of sugar if you pick the ones that aren't sugary.

Did you manually set your macronutrient goals? Otherwise, MFP raises most of them (not sodium and maybe not sugar) along with your calories on exercise days.

It will certainly raise Carbs/Fat/Protein. If you are exercising, the MFP protein goal is rather low. You chould be aiming for at least 1g per pound of bodyweight per day.

The only way to avoid sodium is to avoid processed foods and restaurant foods.

Good, nutrient dense snacks with low carbs (sugars) are nuts, nut butters, eggs, and protein powders.

I only watch my calories, carbs, and sodium. I've lost almost 60 pounds in 18 weeks. I love low carb life! :)

i mostly stopped eating processed foods, especially sandwich meat, because my sodium was ALWAYS over...now i usually only use half my sodium allowance, if that...still working on trying to lower my sugar, but i refuse to cut fruit out of my life!
