Upping calories to increase metabolic rate

I have reached a plateau and was wondering for how long you upped your calories to increase your MBR and eventually lose the rest of the unnecessary weight?
And did you do more exercise to burn these added calories?
Thanks

I only had to add 100 extra calories. After a few days I lost 2 pounds.0

It's takes about a week or two to change your metabolic rate through upping your calories a bit. But it's different for everyone so just try what seems right for you.0

Bump. I'm wondering if I need to do the same.0

It took me a month and I had to bump up mine 300. Apparently I didnt have my activity level right lol I did not add more exercise because you body is in starvation mode once you reach plateau so increasing the calories means you have gotten too little so your body needs them.
One thing I did do was add HIIT to my cardio work outs 3 times a week and I now do jumping jacks or planks in between my weight sets.0 -
So are you adding to the 1200 (that is mine) that MFP calculates for you to lose weight?0
