When answering the questions MPF asked when first starting out, I chose Sedentary for my activity level. I am a stay at home mommy and pretty much do housework all day with plenty of time to sit down and rest if needed. I'm also a college student only taking online classes (Army wife so it's hard to go to on campus schools) so I'm on my butt typing away most days. BUT, I workout 5-6 days a week since I started MFP.

I guess my question is, since I workout 5-6 times a week, am I considered Sedentary?

I've left mine as sedentary and added my workouts. I guess you could increase your general activity level and not log your workouts. It seems to me either way would work.

Your Activity Level is meant to represent your normal 8-5 workday ONLY. That's why you have to log your exercise.

If you are a SAHM with young children that you're playing with, chasing and doing lots of housework and laundry, I'd set your Activity Level to "Lightly Active". If you're a SAHM with kids at school all day and you're at home doing your online courses, I'd leave it at "Sedentary".

Then log your workouts as you perform them.

Personally, I would keep it as sedentary and then just track your workouts as exercise.

Mine is set on sedentary and I add active workouts, but I don't add things like housework and shopping and all the walking around I do all day after the children. I probably should be more like lightly active, but I prefer to be able to log everything I want than to inadvertently go over because I was having a lazy day.
