how do i know im losing actual fat and not just weight? like i feel healthier and cleaner but how do i know im burning that fat

    I would suggest a BMI with a "scanner". I had one done with a device that is like a microphone set on your upper arm that measures everything. It told me the break down of my fat weight and my lean weight plus the amount of body water. That is very helpful to measure my sucess!!!

    You can have your fat measured professionally, or you can do it at home using body fat scales. The scales do not have an exact reading, so the figures can vary slightly from day to day, but they will definitely show you whether you are losing body fat, or lean tissue. :)

    One way that I am measuring fat loss is by measurements. The week after I started MFP, I bought a tape measurer and recorded my measurements. In about a week or so I am going to measure them again so I can see if there is a difference.

    so basically what your saying is by measuring myself i'll know ? cause i don't want to go do it professionally.
