Junk day?

I am on a full week of doing good staying in the calories and really watching myself which is awsome for me. In previous times of this I would allow myself one or two junk days then get right back on track. I am really wanting to know if anyone out there does this too or if it's a complete wrong thing to do? Lets me honest I can't avoid the pizza monster all the time and I like to have some adult beverages if I am going to have a day off which doesn't happen all the time, like I don't have a set schedule. I could go two weeks with one day off and then the next be able to take 4 (very rare). When I am on my own time I like to sit back chill with friends. I'm not saying I go crazy these days and shove everything in my mouth that I can but if I want pizza I allow myself pizza. Then when I have these days do I log my food and see the damage or just leave it? I am just curious about peoples opinions, suggestions and comments

I don't have one or two junk days, but I do have maybe one junk meal a week. It allows you to get rid of your cravings if you have any. You can't completely deprive your body of the food you love!0

I did for the first few months as I adjusted to a healthier diet. I'll still have an occasional junk meal but my eating habits have changed a lot. I lost 1-1.5 pounds per week consistently while I had two days "off" from my good habits.0

I allow myself one junk meal a week. One or two junk days would be dangerous for me weight loss!0

My husband has lost 45 lbs in 4 months. He has 1 day a week where he eats whatever he wants. And he eats ALOT on those days. He has not had any issues. He has lost 12 lbs each month for the past 4 months. Has not affected him. I on the other hand am too scared to try it this way. I stay as strict as possible but if I wants something I make sure I exercise or something so I can have my junk and not be taking a step back. It is all trial and error. But yes....do log it...so that way you can keep track of your weeks and how it actually affects you. Just remember that pizza has a lot of sodium and you will retain water from eating it. Just drink extra water that week.0

My trainer allows me 1 day a week, if I choose, to go 1000 calories over.
Because I stay away from bread & chocolate all the other days, I normally allow myself one or the other on my "dirty block" day.
Today I went all out and had both. )
I would still log everything, it holds you accountable for your choices, and will stop you losing complete control.0 -
I live strict Mon-Friday...then the weekend comes and I am free to eat what I please and jump right back in on Monday. I do still exercise on the weekends and don't really want as much junk as before. I have lost 48 pounds in 4 months so I think it works fine for me...to each their own.0

I cant handle junk days because then i have a hard time getting back on track after that. Instead I allow myself about 1 "mess up" per day and just account for it by trying to stay under tha calories and by exercising more. No one can live deprived all the time!0

Junk day needs to go bye bye. They should be very sparse occurrences.0

I have Fridays off so I workout for a couple of hours and burn alot of calories on that day eat whatever I want but I still count the calories and don't go over for the day. It keeps me happy knowing that I get to do this every week... and I still lose weight every week.0

I don't really have a set day to eat junk but I feel that if I crave something (like pizza or chocolate) and I have 1 piece or so, that's not going to kill me and that's not going to make me gain 100 pounds. So every once in a while I do like to treat myself to something not so healthy. If you do that once a week, but get back on track, there's nothing wrong with that. I know tons of people that do that and have still lost a lot of weight0

If I have lost weight that week, then I allow my weigh in day to be my junk day but I still log it. That usually consists of a small Dove bar and maybe some chips or a piece of cake. I don't go all out as then I would lose control. I have found though that after being on the this new healthy path for awhile, I don't crave the junk as much or as often.0

Pizza is one of my vices too, but considering that this is supposed to be a lifestyle change and not a diet, I allow myself to choose some of my favorite things now and then. We can't expect to live the rest of our lives never having our favorite foods again, that's a set up for total failure. I'd say go ahead and indulge yourself now and then, but dont go overboard. Make it a conscious choice, and be honest with yourself....log it, even if it puts you over.0

Honestly whenever I would do the "junk" day, I wouldn't sit around eating a 1lb bag of m&ms and then a pizza. I would eat a decent breakfast, a snack which considering I don't keep real junk in the house won't be that bad and then pizza. I don't go all nutso or anything. Maybe I will start off with it, log it and see how bad they really are and make simple adjustments. I just know I can't be good all the time.0

If you have alot too lose then junk days probably won't affect you. I can't have 'junk days' as close to my goal weight as I am, one flippin day can set me back a week to ten days! I know because it happens EVERY two weeks like clockwork lol. It seems I have the type of metabolism that requires a VERY STRICT diet...it sucks! Lol!0

AGREED! Maybe one treat meal a week, 400-600 calories0
