NSV's to boost motivation!

I have 2 NSV's to be proud of. The first my sister pointed out. She gave me a monetary gift and told me it couldn't be used for bills. I said no problem... I've been really wanting a HRM. When I said that she laughed and said that I've reallly changed. Once upon a time I would have gone for clothing, jewelry, or a new pocketbook.. followed by dinner out after shopping. Pre- healthy lifestyle I never would have even contemplated a fitness related "treat"!

Then today while doing errands I had to go to a local strip mall that has a very small parking lot. Its always crazy there on Fridays so try to avoid it but had to go. Trying to get a parking spot is a nightmare and once upon a time I would have cruised the lot for 30 minutes, stalking people trying to get a slot. Today I took one loop around the lot (with about 15 other cars), said this is not worth the time so left the lot, parked on the street a block away, and walked back to go to the stores I needed to hit. Did my rerrands, including grabbing groceries at the small market. Then walked back to the car with several heavy bag, had a gallon of skim milk, a cantelope, bunch of bananas, several mangos & avacados as well as a few other items. I chose walking over getting as close as I could, lugged several heavy bags with ease, and it was all healthy stuff in the bags!

The scale may not always move the way we want it but thr's so many ways to measure success- just need to look for them!!

Other than that, loved your post! I know about the parking. I fear backing out and hitting someone more than I dislike walking. I always park at the back--where I can pull through and park facing "out".
