I am a 39 year old mother of 3, married for 14 years. I graduated with my Masters in Nursing in February, which is great, since I now have a wonderful new career as a Certified Nurse Midwife. However, sitting in front of a laptop or with my nose in books for the past 3 years has resulted in my weight being at it's highest ever. I am around 30 pounds heavier than I was when I started school. ![:( :(](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/frowning.png)
I am committing to making the necessary changes to get healthy again. I toyed with trying to eat low carb, etc., but know that I will never stick with something that deprives me of certain foods. So, I'm ready to start tracking calories and add some more movement to my days.
I look forward to "meeting" people who are making the same changes!
Oh, and I am a Buckeye - from the state of O-H-I-O!

Congratulations on obtaining your Masters (my daughter is studying to become a nurse - I know how hard you worked for that degree!). Feel free to add me.0

Welcome! These tools really work if you use them. The great thing is you don't have to deprive yourself of any food. It's all about portion control. I know you will be successful!0

Forgive me, but since I'm new, I'm not sure how this site works. How do I add a friend and what does that do for me? Will I have a list of friends, or something?
Thanks!0
