My NSV

I have been here for 2 months and lost *only* 7 pounds. However, that is 7 pounds less than when I started and that is 7 pounds I won't be carrying with me to the beach this summer. It is a healthy pace.
My first NSV is how much better my clothes fit and I have even gone down a size already. I am not carrying around near as much "jiggle" as I did.
My second NSV is more important to me and more of a breakthrough. I suffer from adult onset allergies and asthma. It is one of the reasons that I started the slow weight gain in the last 13 years. Even with using the Wii in the living room, I always had the excuse that I didn't feel well and I wouldn't work out. My treadmill, bike and elliptical are the garage where they are subject to the dander from the dogs and pollen from outside. It used to be that I would only exercise out there under the most ideal of circumstances for fear of setting off my asthma. This year, through MFP, I am accountable to myself and my friend. I have been doing most of my working out in the garage through the height of pollen season. I have found out that even though I have bad days, most of the time I can control my allergies and asthma without them ruling my life...or my workouts! I might start out with a little rough breathing, but I know by 10-15 minutes into it if I can finish the 30 or 60 minutes. I am almost always breathing a whole lot better by the end of the workout and a good hot shower. The important lesson is that I won't know how I will feel during a workout until I at least try.
Looking forward to spending more outside time this spring.
