Swollen in the morning?

I'm losing weight according to the scale, and I'm always below 2000mg of sodium per day, but my fingers are always swollen in the morning. Even after a day of drinking all my water and exercising, like I did yesterday. This morning, I woke up to find a detailed impression of my wedding ring on my finger. It took a little effort to get it off.
But even being awake a little while helps, because my ring isn't as tight and I've only been awake an hour.
Does anyone know why this happens?

It's normal for your hands to be puffy or swollen in the morning and your feet to be puffy or swollen in the evening. We all retain a certain amount of water regardless of our diet. (If we have bad food habits we'll retain more.) Throughout the day the effects of gravity pull the water to our feet, but as we sleep the water moves a little more freely through our bodies and for some reason likes to collect in our hands a little. My hands are always a little puffy in the mornings. I can't get my rings off even though they're fitting much looser than they ever have.0
