No guilt sweet tea.

I must admit that I love sweet tea. But when I started my weight loss journey I gave up on it. When making sweet tea I always used about 2 cups of sugar... woah! So the other day I was in the store and seen this 16 FL OZ bottle of no calorie liquid sweetener. I picked up the bottle to read more. There are 382 servings per container and each serving has 0 calories, 0g fat, less than 3mg sodium, 0g carbs and 0g sugars! I thought that sounded great. The product is made from water and soluble saccharin so it's pretty much liquid sweet-n-low. The best part is that it's only $2 a bottle at my local Ingles. So anyhow, I used it to make tea (2 tbls. is as sweet as 1 cup of sugar). And to my surprise it worked really well. Just thought I would share this with anyone looking for a cheaper alternative to splenda/truvia and all the other powder based products.

I LOVE sweet tea too...2 cups of sugar??! That's super sweet tea : ) I've been cutting back on the sugar gradually and am down to about 1/2 cup per gallon. The best part is my family doesn't like it without lots of sugar, so I don't have to make it so often. :laugh:0

I think eating real sugar as opposed to chemical "sugar" is much better for you. There are a lot of studies relating artificials (even splenda, though truvia is in the clear as of now) to cancers. But of course everything causes cancer... honestly though I think sugar tastes better than chemical sweeteners.0

It depends on WHY you aren't eating sugar. If you are not worried about the "side effects" of it being chemically made, it is actually better for helping to lose weight. Since it doesn't mess with your blood sugar levels and cause spikes and falls it may help people who are non-diabetic insulin resistant (which most overweight people are for one reason or another) control that aspect of their weight.
I prefer using stevia in as many things as I can, but it's not the same in everything. It's great to me in tea, but I make my tea by the glass since I'm the only one who drinks it.0
