How many WW Pts Plus per day?

In the old system I was 18-21 pts as I am 5’8 and less than 150 lbs, the lowest bracket.

I found online calculators to determine points for food (and yes I understand fruit and veggies are now all 0 pts) to avoid paying to be a member but I can’t seem to find out how many points I can eat daily. I understand the calculator they sell can tell you, would anyone be kind enough to enter my info into theirs to let me know????

I am hearing murmers that its 29 pts for ALL people. Now I am sure that cannot possibly be true that they are no longer taking into account height, weight and gender. 29 pts would be about 2000 calories if you added the food to MFP to double check.

I do understand you have 44 flex points to also eat during the week, I suppose you eat those after strenuous work-outs to fuel your body.

If anyone can tell me how many points I can eat that would be much appreciated as I have been google’ing for quite some time now w/o luck.

    Bump - I'm interested too if anyone has this information. I don't know that I trust the whole "fruits and veggies have zero points" thing. Seems like an easy way to go overboard.

    I am pretty sure your stomach would explode before you could eat 1200 calories in fruits and veggies....

    i dont know the answer sorry but do know when i did the free two week trial that i was given about 32 points so they arent all given 29. and yeah no points on fruit is too easy to go over board. i think a lot of people were finding they werent losing the weight cause they were eating too much fruit.
  • My aunt and uncle are currently on WW. I can get exact details on points for you if you want, but what I heard from my aunt is that the whole system has changed and yeah, all fruits and veggies are 0 points. Are you not having an success with just keeping track of calories?

    I've been a long-time WW online member and was successful in losing, but "somehow" I put it back on over a few years. I'm 5'7" and started at 173, and they gave me 29 P's. In the old program, the # of P's drops after you reach 160 (at my height)--since I quit before that, I don't know what it drops down to, maybe 25 or 26??

    I quit WW because I too questioned the unlimited fruits. I knew I'd gorge on fruits, and I can eat a lot! I read somewhere that "off the record", WW says to limit the # of fruits to 5/day--don't go over that. I knew I was allowed too many calories or P's to lose weight, maybe my metabolism is slower or something--but I've been there, done that. And I wasn't fond of paying the $$ for something that was too lenient for me.

    I love MFP because I'm more accountable for what I eat, feel more disciplined now that I have people watching what I put in my mouth, and it just makes more sense. Why pay for WW when you can do this? And the database is better, and my browser doesn't get hung up as much. Makes me want to get something to eat when that happens!! LOL WW is in business to make money, they do have good recipes though, I'll grant you that.

    I was counting calories with success for about 2 months. Then I decided to join WW because they had a WW mtg at my work and my workplace would reimburse me 80% if I went to 10mtgs in a 10wk time frame. I gained 4 pounds. AND was 100% on plan and I had added in exercise which I had NOT been doing prior to joining WW.

    Now I'm back to simply counting calories. Not sure if it was the new plan or what.

    Thanks for trying everyone. Yes I definitely would agree it’s important to not gorge on fruit.

  • It's definitely not 29 points for everyone. I did WW a couple summers ago, and I had 22 pts per day (5'6 and 155 pounds). And veggies don't have points, but fruits definitely do. A banana was about 3 points. I liked that I learned to make healthier substitutions by switching to 0 point foods, like switching from mayo to mustard (0 points so I could put as much on as I wanted), and I started drinking my coffee black (0 points).
    But yeah, I wouldn't assume something doesn't count, and they also taught us that 0 + 0 =/= 0. If you eat enough of something that is 0 points, it is going to start to be worth points.
    Oh, and when I was doing it, there was only 32 points for splurging, not 44.
    I don't know the exact formula for figuring out what your points are, but I remember that when you get down to another bracket, say, go from 150 pounds to 149, you have to remove a point. Just something else to keep in mind.

    If you go overboard on fruit, your body will certainly let you know - and your friends won't want to be near you, either. :-D

    It's 29 points for most people, because they upped the points on most carbs (other than fruit). Things that had been about 2 points per item, for example, might now be about 6 points, depending on carb and fat levels.

    Fruits and veggies are free UNLESS used in a recipe with other, pointed items. No idea why, but I would guess it's because it's an overall point count for a recipe.

    I'm still on WW and do prefer them to MFP, although I use MFP when I want to check myself against what I ate with WW. Usually, they're within range, even on the new PointsPlus system.
  • hey! If you have an android powered phone, you can get an awesome application. It's called WWDiary. It has the new points plous program that will give you your daily allotment as well as the 49 weekly points and tracks your activity points. Best thing about it is ITS FREE!!!

    I did the new WW points plus program and the lowest amount of points that you are allowed is 29. Keep in mind that the points values for most food have gone up by 2 points also. I didnt have any success with the new program tho. It felt like way to much eating and the idea of unlimited fruits and veggies doesnt really make much sense to me when an apple or banana is about 100 calories. It has to be counted somehow.

    It is indeed 29 points+. I was a longtime member of WW (began in 1999, lifetime in 2001) and i unfortunately gained the weight back after 3 years. In 2009 i went back, lost 40lbs and as soon as the new program started (here in NL nov 2009) it all stopped. That's why im here. Months and months of nothing happening, several doctors visits, 2 dietitians and a sports doctor later and come to find out nothing is wrong with me. WW just wasnt working for me. 18 months, no loss, a lot of frustration later im trying something else. I don't personally recommend the new program. I am actually eating less now and saw my first real loss after logging here for 2 weeks.
