Hi, everyone -
I'm Patrick... and I"ve been using MFP for about three months, but very seriously for about 30 days. I'm pretty much on track with my goal of 2 lbs a week... and this is helping a lot. Really "brought to life" the reality of calories in and calories out and the relationship of food to fitness on a day by day basis.
I LOVE to cook... and I also host a vegan cooking site... we've done some streaming tv shows... posted LOTS of recipes. I probably cook at home 5-6 nights a week and 4 out of 7 lunches each week. Breakfast for me is ALMOST always the same... a thrive chocolate almond raw smoothie (it rocks). But sometimes ... on Sunday... I'll cook a brunch feast. Today was vegan sausage egg and cheese biscuits - just made it up... and wow. it rocked. BUT - like 645 calories. SO not a daily thing.
Since beginning MFP - I"ve done 6 miles fast walking at 4 mph for 28 of the last 30 days. Hopefully, it's helping.
Two years ago I ran three half marathons... but I"ve had some back/disc issues that are keeping me from running right now. Funny, in training for a half-marathon for nearly a year - I didn't lose a pound. BUT - I didn't have MFP to help me.
I'm hopeful that this new awareness will be a great help.. and I'm looking for like minded fun people who want to share their stories and successes (and challenges).
At any rate - good luck to you... in your quest for greater health, fitness, and well-being.
