  • You can't spot reduce, in that you cannot chose which part of the body the fat comes from, and working a certain muscle will not preferentially burn the fat that exists over that muscle.

The only way to lose fat anywhere on your body is to burn more calories than you consume, and to work out. Doing 1,000 crunches a day will not get you a flat stomach if you don't clean up your diet.

hi , cardio at 75 % of your max heart rate will work and reduce it in time, for sure - I'm doing it since a month or so but meanwhile work out the abbs with crunches, planks , bicycles and whatever u feel like - the more toned the muscles the faster the fat goes off :)

Exactly. Of course with crunches also it is better to do quality over quantity. When you do crunches you need to contract your stomach muscles before you ever make a move, and keep your stomach tight through the whole workout. Move very slowly, hold at the top, and you should be feeling like you are trying to push your butt through the floor, then go down slowly. Breathe out as you go up, and in as you go back down.

The best way to rid your self of fat is clean eating, and proper diet. The only thing that gets rid of fat is a caloric deficit. Weight training will help build your muscles to preserve lean mass, and cardio will help build your heart, and burn calories, but there is no way to target just your belly.
