I know that I am suppose to eat back my exercise calories for the day but I am wondering how much stock I should put into the exercise database on this site. It says that I burn over 600 calories doing 50 minutes of circuit training. i eat most of these back but usually try to leave about 200 calories as I feel I might not be burning 600. I know I should get a HRM but want to make sure I stick with this before I invest in a good one. opinions on whether to eat the last 200 calories?

I dont put ANY stock in the calorie values on this website. Buy a GOOD HRM, and you will be able to go from there.

i find this site to be high in its evaluation of calories burned
if i walk for 2 hrs, i enter it as 1 hour
id rather burn a little more than be led down a path of misconception

I don't rely on the MFP data base personally. I usually record under the amount of time I actually did exercise. If I swim for 60 mins I record 40. If I clean enough to break a sweat I record 5 mins for every 15 mins cleaning. I usually have a pretty good idea of what I burned based on exertion level and I try to match that up. I won't buy a HRM because I never want my exercise to be only about burning calories and that's what I will focus on if I had one. First and foremost, I exercise to build stamina, strength, a sense of well being and health. The calorie burn is just a side benefit.

    Interesting

I too am concerned - I think the exercise values can be off and I check mine with alternative sources, however there seems to be around 10% variance plus minus - so i go further farther and the weight is coming off

the secret is no snacks, drink lots of water and have a prize in mind for the end result !

Geez have been assuming the calories burned is correct ...it's that much off ?? I don't always eat back all of my exercise calories but sometimes I do ;(
