i had a friend ask me if i would be interested in a body wrap a few days ago...i declined, but was wondering if ne one knew if there were LONG TERM benefits to it....is it more of a short term solution, or do the inches stay off? im guessing its nothing more than a short cut and really doesnt benefit you in the long run, but really dont know...whats your opinion....

Interested in seeing responses to this. Was thinking of getting a body scrub and seaweed wrap as a milestone reward

Want answers to this too. Was thinking of doing one once closer to my goal as a final firming up!

I had one done about 9 years ago when they were really popular. I was covered in this warm mud type stuff then plastic was put on me then very warm wool blankets on top of that. It was relaxing at first, but then I started getting really hot, come to find out the places A/C had gone out that morning. so to say the least it was quite uncomfortable. I didn't lose any weight and didn't notice any tightening, but I could see where I could have sweat off a few pounds because it was so warm.

I think it would have been very relaxing had the a/c worked.

    I found this link: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/11/15/earlyshow/series/weapons_of_mass_reduction/main3504860.shtml

"Wraps are designed to improve the texture and appearance of the skin by helping to rid the body of excess fluids and toxins. Benefits of body wraps may include detoxification, boosting of the lymphatic system and metabolism, body contouring, temporary inch-loss, skin tightening, and skin softening."

So it says "temporary" in one of the paragraphs for "inch-loss". So it's not permanent from what I've found.
