I was wondering if anyone has used any stretch creams, lotions, or whatever. I have recently seen some being advertised but I dont want to buy them if they dont work. I have some red/purple ones that I would like to get rid of!

As you lose weight, and over time, the redness fades and they shrink. I have not found one that works as it is advertised, but I do like to use Bio-Oil, just because it feels nice and sinks in quickly. But I donb't think there is any miracle cream out there, I've looked!!!

You can't not get rid of stretch marks unless you are have them done medically. They shrink as you lose weight. Some become very unnoticeable, others do not. Please do not waste your money. During the warmer months is when companies advertise these creams because we start to wear less clothing and become more self-concious of how we look.

The best way to not get stretch marks is to keep your skin moist and supple but once you get them over the counter stuff does not work.

I have had several of the dark red/purple ones on my stomach, and they have all faded to a barely noticeable, completely skin-colored mark. The texture of the skin is forever changed, but the coloration is not permanent, there IS hope!!!! Keep on track!

My dermatologist said the only way to truly minimize (not eliminate) the appearance of stretch marks is through laser treatments. However, even those are only effective on newer stretch marks, not marks that are already a year or two old, and they are definitely not worth the hundreds of dollars you'd have to spend on them. She did recommend cocoa butter though...
