I am thinking of possibly buying an HRM, I have looked at consumer reports and the Timex Personal Trainer T5G971, and Omron HR - 100C were both recommended as best buys. Any opinions, or suggestions? I would like to see how accurate the machines are, so suggestions would help!

I bought the timex off e-bay, and couldn't get it to work, it didn't come with a book and was too confusing to set up. I sent it back. I bit the bullet and bought a polar ft7 at recomendations from this site. Simple to set up, comfortable and hopefully very accurate. I absolutely love it, it seems to motivate me to exercise just a little bit longer. Good Luck! Lynn

I was REALLY hesitant to shell out the money for it, but I did and now STRONGLY recommend the Polar brand. They have a model at target for just over 100 where I am.

You see time and time again posts asking for opinions on them and Polar is always listed! Seriously for a reason. They are awesome! My friend has had one for over 3 years and just replaced her battery for the first time (and she works out A LOT!)

I just got Polar 4 and I love it. It is pretty accurate. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!! from Newbalance HRM watches. I got it at Target thinking it was a great deal and the watch didnt work. It would say I burned 500+ calories in a 30 min walking slow pace on a flat surface with a HR of 260.
