Anyone out there on a Gluten Free Diet? It's hard to follow calorie guides when food seems so restrictive by having to be GF!

There are a lot of GF folks on MFP. We've been GF for four months now and it's was hard at first but it's pretty easy now. Kind of fun learning all the new things out there. Being GF forces you to eat freah and whole as there is limited processed stuff which ends up being a good thing. Good luck and I'll bet by this evening this thread will be jammin with GF MFP peeps! For those just getting started I found the site below very helpful. There is an online GF cooking school, but I haven't had time to check it out yet.

At Costco last week, I found these great gluten-free crackers. I don't need to eat gluten-free, but these sounded so good I bought them and they are yummy! They are Crunchmaster's Multi-Seed Crackers and they are made with brown rice, and 5 kinds of seeds: amaranth, chia, quinoa, sesame and flax. They are high in Omega-3s as well as just being all around good for you. At Costco, they were $9.99 for a large box with 4 individual bags.0

I just tried Glutinos new Multi-grain and it's really good too - I never like their bread before but this new recipe is super tasty and light (not like the ton-o-bricks I've tried before!)0 -
Got the Udi's today. It's like real bread. We were so excited, it's not like eating a stale piece of banana bread. Yes PBJ's are back and sandwiches too!0

I'm Celiac, and find that I don't eat many GF substitutes. I primarily just eat fresh fruits/veggies and meat.
I do eat Udi's though!! love it!
There are so many options being GF, you just have to know were to find them. It's difficult at first. I remember the first time i went to the grocery store after being diagnosed, i was in there for over an hour and left empty handed with tears in my eyes. I just felt lost. But now, It's really simple. and luckily, i don't mind repetitious eating, so I have a daily routine for breakfast, snacks and lunch.0
