hiya! i completed c25k a few weeks ago and completed my first 5k on april 16. i've been trying to decide what i want to do now, and i think i want to keep signing up for 5ks, but i want to train for a 10k. i'm not going to be on a crazy-dedicated schedule - i'll be fitting in my running in between the classes i take at the gym because i don't want to give up all of my dance and circuit training for jogging - at least not yet! that could change as i progress.
i'm hoping to find some other people that are aiming to run a 10k, whether you want to crazy compete, jog the entire thing, or just finish it! i want to have a group that can give pointers on upping our distance past the 5 mile threshold - i feel like it's going to be pretty hard, so i'm hoping to find a lot of supportive friends!
i'm not really concerned about what your timetable is - i'm not looking to run a 10k until at least the fall, and maybe if it's really hard, not even until next spring. we'll just have to see how it goes. i'm thinking we could just post our progress and issues and get feedback and support from each other.
here's a couple of links to different training programs if anyone is interested:

alrighty then! here's to kicking it up a notch!

You can doooo it
I went from c25k, and then joined my first 10K and just did it on Sunday!
I ran 3 times a week to train.. One of those days was either hill training or speed drills (for about 3-4K)
One was a long run, (so I would start at 5K, and then progress 1K a week) and the other running day was just whatever I wanted, as long as I was running and trying to get some distance. Now that I've completed the 10, I want to keep it up because its amazing the second you stop running how hard it is to reach the point where you've been, so don't stop and keep going!!!!!!!0 -
I just signed up for my first 10k and its only 4 weeks away so I would love to hear some tips from people! I run normally for exercise, usually 4x per week. I've put myself in a 70-90 minute joggers bracket. If all goes well I'd like to sign up for one later in the summer and do a proper training routine and actually try for a better time. In the meantime I will check out those links!0
