I have been here a year at the end of the month. I have been working hard on my goal of 155 so I would be "normal" in my BMI.

I guesed my height when I joined.. because there is no where to take it here.. and it was a good guess... or so I thought, now a year later I find out I was way wrong. I am 5'4 NOT 5'6 which makes a 10 lbs difference in BMI.

Now I have to get to 145 lbs not 155 lbs... which isn't to bad since I started off heavy but after a year of believing differently!

I went from needing to loose 44 lbs to needing to loose 54.. which sucks.. it's over 50 again!!!

And it feels like I gained 10 lbs overnight although I know that's not the case.. I watched my ticker go up and I had to change my "midway" success date back a month... was real sad....

So can anyone else cheer me up and tell me they messed up on something big like this to? I know I will get over it, but today it's very depressing.

I spent the first 8 months in the gym doing things wrong.

Eating poorly when I wasn't in the gym.
    Doing the wrong excercises.
    Neglecting my leg muscles.
Thinking that because I was working out I could eat whatever I wanted.

Everyone starts out making mistakes. It's a learning experience and a long-term journey.

When i first started i was using a cheap Walgreens scale my mother had had for years, after a few pounds i went to the doctor and gained 13 pounds when i stepped on the scale... ? ? : O I was 225 not 212. : ( merrr...

Took awhile to get over that. : )

I kept telling myself "this weight too shall pass" Lol. Good Luck!

I tend to eat things I can't quantify or I forget how many were on my plate when I started, stuff like that. I'm sure I've been over calories on some of the days I thought I was under simply because I forgot an ingredient, a side dish, or measurement.

My mistake earlier this year was eating too little. I discovered by upping my intake by 300 calories that I lost 2 lbs a week instead of 1.

We all make mistakes, but I guess my question is this - who says you have to get to 145? If it's the BMI charts, it could be wrong. I say -- keep 155 for a goal for now (or maybe split the difference at 150?), and see if you TRULY need to get to 145. My goal is on the very high side of "healthy" BMI for my height, but I think sometimes those charts are very misleading based on your individual circumstances.

Don't let it get you down. One day at a time!

Exactly what I was going to say. The BMI chart does not take into account an individual's muscle mass etc. on another note I have made many many mistakes but I have learned from them and gotten to where I am and still learning! Good Luck!

This happened to me too! It was sooo depressing. And the exact same weight too - I thought I was 212 and with my new digital scale, I popped up to 224. For some reason it felt like such a huge difference.
