question for weight lifters

I don't have access to weight machines, but I want to lift weights twice a week or so. I know I can buy hand weights at the store, but I'm more concerned with working out my thighs, butt, and stomach than I am with working my arms. What can I do that will work out my lower body? I have been doing pilates 3 times a week, but I want something more intense than that. I saw ankle weights I could strap on when I run/walk, but I don't think that would replicate the lower body workout I could get lifting weights at a gym.

I do a combo of three lower body exercises in difference ways - squats, lunges, deadlifts. There are so many variations of these. Walking lunges, split one leg lunges, step ups. The list literally goes on forever.
I would bypass the ankle weights, useless in my opinion. Not enough weight to do anything.
To start, 15 pound dumbbells should be enough.
P.S. Based on your user name, are you a Celtic fan? If so I just have one thing to say, GO HEAT TONIGHT! LOL0 -
No, I'm Irish. I don't even know what sport the Celtic team does. Not a fan of sports. I don't even have a TV.0

(And I'm secretly glad you are not a Celtics fan - which BTW is Boston Celtics Basketball)0 -

Super skaters are one of my favorites, google for it. Google for lower body free weight exercises, anything you can do with weights you can do without and will still be quite effective (No weight = more reps). Plyometrics is great as well.
Think about resistance bands as well, they're a great sub for weights in many exercises.0
