Should I make up extra calories the next day?

If I go over my calorie goal one day, should I go under my goal by that amount the next day? Or, should I just chalk it up and eat to my goal each day?

That is what I would do, kind of like zig zagging. You are not going to go into starvation mode in one day, contrary to what some may think. I actually really like the idea of zig zagging, keep you body guessing. :-)

That's what I do. If I overeat one day, I'll eat less the next. It helps me feel less guilty :) lol

You could do that to a degree, but obviously if you go over 1000+ today, you shouldn't only eat 200 tomorrow. You could also workout a little more, or just let it go and let today be a new day.
  • We all have days when we overindulge. The best and most healthy thing to do is to go immediately back to your normal healthy habits.

I try to let it go and remember the next day to make better choices. I try not to hold on to yesterdays failures. I don't want them to drive me crazy.

Good advice, all! I particularly like the idea of not beating myself up, and making sure I don't starve myself. I only went over by 175 cal yesterday, so I'll just do some major exercise today and not eat all the calories. Works for me.
