Something I've found that works for me.

I abhor cardio. I loooooove to lift weights, but with some extra poundage I've found that I'm more successful dropping that weight, more quickly and getting back to a comfortable size with cardio thrown into my workouts.
I've been watching tv shows and movies on my phone. I set a goal say of 30 minutes of elliptical and pop on an episode of Weeds or The Cosby show. By the time the show is over, my cardio is done and it really helps occupy my brain instead of thinking about how I'd rather be lifting or lying on the floor.
My gym has tv, but I get frustrated trying to find a show that stimulates me and doesn't give me A.D.D. with the commercials. Just thought I'd share if anyone else hates cardio like I do.

I love the elliptical machine!!! But hate the treadmill, unfortunately I have a treadmill but not an elliptical! I watched half of the movie twilight while I was on the elliptical and zoom the time flew by!!! I've realized I need interaction while working out, because I love the way it makes me feel but really don't enjoy it that much...if that makes sense. so...I am definitely in a similar boat.0

I get really bored on my elliptical at home. Distractions certainly do help keep me going!0

Here is a great stength training work out if you don't have one:

Same here! If I'm really energetic, I'll watch an hour of the Biggest Loser while on a stationary bike or while doing aerobics.0

I do the same. If I need to burn some extra calories, I put in a movie and jump on the elliptical. It sure does pass the time.0 -
tvs really are a lifesaver for cardio.
I've put in a lot of long sessions thanks to my gym having espn on the tv in front of the ellipticals.0 -
That's a really great idea. I'm going to start going to my school's gym, but I wasn't sure what I could take to keep my mind occupied. As much as I love music and reading, I don't think music would keep me occupied, and I think reading while moving like that would make me sick, haha.
Now I really hope my phone will play Netflix, because I think this is the best idea I've heard yet.0 -
Last year, I didn't have cable. So, I would go to the gym on Tuesday nights around 9pm and watch Deadliest Catch while I did my hour on the treadmill. I don't mind cardio, but it definitely helped having something interesting to watch on tv while doing it.0
