No idea what happened

The muscle on the back part of my leg feels pulled. The back of my thigh. It has been this way for a couple of months now. I thought maybe I had pulled it somehow, even though I cannot remember such an incident, but it just won't go away. It is not excruciating. It hurts mainly when I stress it. Like when I walk upstairs or put a lot of weight on it. Anyone have any ideas? I tried searching the symptoms online with little luck. I can go to the doctor easily but have a feeling it will turn out to be "nothing" according to an x-ray (which will not show minor tissue or nerve issues). It hurts. And I would like it to stop. Thanks. :ohwell:

I'm not a doctor, but I can't imagine a doctor sending you off for an x-ray if you feel like you've pulled a muscle... you haven't broken a bone!
Instead they may give you steroid injections to aid the swelling and remove the pain (works surprisingly well!) and/or send you for physiotherapy.

Hope things turn out OK. I would just go to the doctor. They may also do an ultrasound scan to confirm you've torn or pulled the muscle.

My doc xrays everything. Just to "make sure". I have had severe muscle damage in my back before and that of course shows up. It's the minor stuff that I get told just to deal with. I mean, I can do that. I just would rather not.
