okay question:
Do you embrace them or hide them?

Mine are kinda big and a bit flabby but not way to bad,I've always hidden them but lately I wear half sleeves.
I am not wearing 3/4 sleeves all freaking summer in south Florida again,I did that last year and died of heat. Then again I was about 90 pounds heavier last summer lol.
I have bad genetics for thighs and arms :grumble:

    Strength training

You don't even need weights: simply doing pushups and tricep dips off of a chair will be extremely beneficial.
You can start doing pushups on your knees or with your hands on a higher surface.
Start out with as many as you can--aim for at least 10 repetitions of each exercise, repeating 3 times. It takes no time at all and is so good for you.

Genetics plays only a small role in your arm and leg shape. The rest is up to lifestyle.

I used to have flabby arms, but they've toned up a lot by using the machines at the gym. Will they ever be super skinny? Probably not. But, they look a lot better than they did.

Now. If I could figure out to make my thighs - which are pure muscle and quite large - smaller. lol

Agree. Get some handweights from Target and do some biceps/triceps exercises. I need to work on mine as well.

I'm with you... Queen of the Bingo Wings! I've decided that until they're gone, I'm not bothering hiding them. I wore long sleeves all last summer and quite apart from being swelteringly hot, you have to deal with people going "my god, you must be baking, why don't you take your cardigan off?" and having to make excuses why you're absolutely not going to, even if that means that you also walk around with your elbows clamped firmly to your sides to hide the sweaty patches (niiiiice!).

So this year, i've decided, everyone knows what I'm doing and that I'm going in the right direction even if I'm not there yet. So it's short sleeves all the way! And a LOAD of strength training!

I've always had big arms, but thin legs. I think it's from rowing a lot as a teenager, They got really big and muscly, and when I stopped rowing they stayed big but got flabby. I have always envied women with thin arms, ie most of them. It's not fair!

I have the same problem, but still wear tank tops (after all, Florida summers are KILLER!!!) I receive daily emails from Jillian Michaels.com which provide tips, etc. This was in it yesterday...thought it might help:

Q: My arms are a flabby mess. Do you have a simple exercise to tone them up?

A: Absolutely! I've got just the thing. With toned triceps you can wave to your fans all you want (no more upper-arm jiggle!). Get started with tricep kickbacks, a terrific beginner exercise for sculpting the backs of your upper arms:

    Tricep Kickbacks

Hold a dumbbell in each hand and stand with your feet hip-width apart with a slight bend to your knees. Bend over at the waist so that your torso is slightly above parallel with the floor. Bend both elbows so that your upper arms are locked at your sides parallel to the floor. Keeping your arms still, straighten your arms behind you until the end of the dumbbell is pointing down toward the floor with your palms facing in towards your body. Hold for a beat and inhale, slowly lowering your arms back to the starting position, and repeat. To do this properly, remember to keep your abs tight and your back flat.

Sorry, but I disagree - genetics play a huge role. I personally have been doing arm exercises for years and still have flabby arms. And the chick who LEADS Slim in 6 AND Leslie Sansone (the walking DVD lady) BOTH have under arm flab. Women just have it. Christina Applegate has it, for crissakes.
BUT, having said that, there is no reason not to do the tricep and bicep exercises. They are beneficial for your overall muscle definition and strength. But as far as flab, you may not be able to get rid of it all - so I say SHOW IT and be proud of yourself.
We all are beautiful as we are.

I agree. Especially leg shape. I have always had good legs, even when I weighed 12 stone, whereas I know people who weigh 2 stone less than me, who have bigger legs. Some people genetically put on weight there, some don't. I don't. I put in on my arms and round my waist.

Same boat here. My arms are big but not huge. I've got a little flab up by the armpit. I'm focusing on my arms right now so I can wear sleeveless/tank tops this summer without being completely embarrassed. Good luck.

My arms are awful! They're huge! I'm not kidding, they're bigger than my husbands and he's a muscular guy! Mine aren't muscles though, they're mostly flappy flab. Shudder. I didn't hide them last year when I was bigger than I am now just because I already run really hot and putting on a longer sleeve just wasn't going to happen. This year they're still big but I can actually see some muscle definition beginning to peek through. I'm no where near being able to show any thing off yet but between watching what I eat and P90X I should eventually get there! In the mean time, I'm under wraps for now since it's still pretty cool here but when I get warm I'm letting it all hang out. The people who know me should love me regardless and the people who don't know me I don't really care what their opinion is. Thankfully by the time you start hitting menopause and getting hot flashes you really don't give a rip what others think anymore! lol Maybe it's just the hormones?

My goodness! Who ever said a woman doesn't care after she hits menopause? Not I young lady! I work out with a trainer 4 days a week! I do all sorts of muscle tightening and toning exercises. I CARE about what my arms look like. I am in menopause....
