Does the scale lie???

So, I've been having a rough time since yesterday. I was at the WIC office and they weighed me on their medical scale and it is 6lbs off from my scale at home!! According to their scale I haven't lost any weight in the last 2 months. How discouraging!!! It makes me just want to scream!! Which scale is right?? If i've been doing this diligently for 2 months now, then why isn't there a definitive result no matter what scale I use!!!

Your total weight may be off depending upon the scale used, but it is all relative. The same scale will record weight loss or gain from your initial reading.0

I only use one scale and that is the scale I base my weight on. Different scales WILL give you different numbers (the one at my gym is always 4-5lbs heavier than my one at home). Since you'll use your own - use that number.0

For me - I weigh at home in the morning without clothes ... in the doctors office I have clothes on (don't want to scare anybody) and I've generally had food and water. Depending on the weigth of your clothes and how much you've had to drink, it could be a large difference.0

Yes, scales lie. Mine is a b*tch and lies far too often.
In all seriousness, they're scale will be calibrated differently than yours - use the one that you've been consistently using - don't worry about the rest.
Also - your clothes may have been a factor0 -
If you weigh yourself on the same scale then weight-loss is weight-loss!! I work out at a couple different gyms and all the scales are different... the one at home may be wrong but it still tracks the lbs lost! Keep it up!!!0

Definitely only pay attention to the same scale, used at the same time of day, wearing the same amount of clothes (or nothing, as i weight myself). Then you know you are comparing apples to apples. Their scale could be off, or yours, doesn't matter.0

You are too funny! Mine is my best freind apparently the one at the WIC office is the *****!!! LOL:laugh:0

You'll never find two scales that weigh exactly the same. Use the same scale every time you weigh in and don't worry about what other scales read. Even two of the same brand and type of scale may weigh differently. Don't worry. You've lost the weight that your scale says you have. I think the doctor's offices set theirs high on purpose. LOL0

Yup, they lie. Even if you use the same one every single time where you put it can make a difference. I weigh 7lbs less on one side of my bathroom than I do the other lol.0

pay no attention to the scale behind the curtain LOL
Just kidding
Just be consistent, that way clothes, stomach/bladder/colon contents will not interfere.
my method: first thing in the morning, buck nekkid, after going to the bathroom.0 -
