With the holidays here I think it would be wise to start a thread of things that are treats that we can eat. Please post any recipes especially for cookies, dips/appetizers so that we can be successful over the holidays. I have a few that I'm going to be trying- one is for fudge and uses baby food prunes. Another that I came across is for a version of thumbprints- they are Taste of Home recipes so usually those are pretty good however if you have any that you have tried Please post.

With all the baked goods around during this time of year, a great trick is to substitute apple sauce for butter (you can substitute one for one).

That Apple sauce works instead of oils in baking too.
I like sugar free things, Fruit is the fav.
I take a whole wheat pie crust.
Made the same way as a flour crust but with whole wheat flour instead.
and JUST FRUIT!, Apple, Peach, Berries, Pear, etc. Bake as a normal pie and then enjoy! :-)
Jr Mints, If you can only eat one serving. :blushing:
They are low in fat and have fewer cals then other candies.

Side Note:STAY as FAR away from corn syrup as you can.
Not only is it LOADED with calories,
But it is REALLY bad for your tummy.
A lot of laxitives have been made with corn syrup for a reason.
Not to mention that a lot of people are alergic to it and are not even aware that they are.
They only know that after that dinner, or holiday party that they feel icky and can not get out of the bathroom.0
