Weight Lifting - myfitnesspal

I recently found this app and is very informative and easy to use. I am trying to implement my weight lifting program with this app but am finding some limitations.
I have been lifting for over 13 years. I am currently doing a Dorian Yates' workout called "Blood & Guts". This type of workout puts your muscles at maximum resistance and also keeps your heart rate up as only 60 second breaks. I have recorded this exercise into the exercise section however when all is said and done, it does nothing to show the burning of calories thus allowing OR requiring you to eat MORE.
For an person exercising such as weight lifting, a 200 lb person should take in about 4000 calories. I have always know that I don't eat near enough but as I'm now in my 40's I have to reduce that as I don't burn calories like I used to. Today I took in less then 2800 calories which probably still isn't enough to grow but if I follow this I'm taking in too much; which isn't the case.
Has anybody else run into this problem? What do you do to combat this or to work with this program? Am I missing something that makes it calculate the workout?
Thanks.

I changed my macros in the settings or goals section, also I cheat the system here by adding strength training calories that my heart rate monitor gives me by writing in "Strength Training" under my Cardio section. If you do it that way, MFP will give you back those calories.
Does that answer your question or not really? I can only really answer how to get "credit" for weight lifting calories, thereby getting those back for your food diary.
You can see where I log my strength training if you look at my exercise diary. If it's not public just add me as a friend and you can see it. Didn't work out today so you have to look at yesterday or the day before.0 -
That is a great idea Mursey - I'll have to do that too!0
